Graduation









School graduates of all levels, from Kindergarten through to university, are celebrated and honoured here in Pikwàkanagàn with an annual Graduation Ceremony. Almost one hundred students, family and friends gathered together for the annual 2007 Graduation Ceremony.

Graduating schools included Mindiwin Manido Senior Kindergarten students, Grade 8 students from St. James School in Eganville, Grade 8 students from Eganville District Public School, High School students from Opeongo High School, graduates from Adult Continuing Education Program and Post Secondary School graduates.

Day Care/Kindergarten Level
This year 8 students graduated from Mindiwin Manido. They are: Camryn Benoit, Brandon Commando, Cole Bernard, Jocelyn Bernard, Kiana Meness, Jamie Roesler, Ian Mackie, and Whyatt Levesque

 

Elementary School
The following students graduated from Grade 8 and will be attending Opeongo High School in the fall 2006. Graduates from Eganville District Public School are: Jaden Kohoko-Audio, Serena Schoenfeldt, Madison Whiteduck, Brady Lightbody and Reno Commanda. There were two graduates from St. James Catholic School in Eganville. They are: Hayley Kohoko and Kyrie Kohoko.

High School
Graduates from Opeongo High School includes: Jordan Lee Kohoko, Alyssa Whiteduck, Tyson Commanda, and Caylah Luloff


Post Secondary School Level
Ryan Sarazin graduated from Computer Systems Technology program at Cambrian College and is completing his intern at Business Solutions Service Branch/Land and Resources Cluster for the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines in Sudbury.

Victoria Luloff graduated from the Personal Support Worker program at Algonquin College. Jessica Verch, Danielle Sarazin, and Kerry Andrews graduated from the Native Early Childhood Education Program at the Anishinabek Education Institute/Cambrian College.

Rachel Anderson graduated with BSc Honours Wildlife Ecology from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. Rachel has been accepted into McMaster University in the Medical Radiation Sciences Program.

Natalie Kauffeldt graduated with Honours BSc Political Science, minor Global Studies from University of Ottawa. Natalie has made the Dean's Honour List and graduates Cum Laude. Natalie has been accepted into the Master of International Affairs specializing in European Integration Studies at Carleton University.

Kevin Lamure graduated from the University of Windsor, Bachelor of Education. Kevin has been accepted into the Masters degree program, Leadership/First Nations at the University of Western Ontario.

 

Naiomi R. Sarazin graduated from Laurentian University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and she will be returning to the Theatre program in the fall.

Naomi D. Sarazin graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Arts, Honours in Criminology/Criminal Justice, concentration in Sociology.

Stephanie Zelney graduated from the University of Ottawa/Algonquin College with a BSc in Nursing, she also made the Dean's List and graduated Cum Laude.

 

Shirley Kohoko graduated from Ryerson University/FNTI with a B.A. in Social Work. Shirley is employed with the Child and Youth Mental Health Program in Pikwakanagan.

 

Manager of Education Services, Gloria Bernard, and Chantelle Hubert, Adminstrative Assistant, worked hard to ensure the graduation ceremony was a success. Gloria functioned as MC for the graduation event this year. Congratulations to all graduates and award winners for their hard work and determination.
