Governance Strategic Plan
The Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation are developing a draft Strategic Plan on Governance. What this means is that we are establishing processes,
policies and codes and receiving training. By having policies to follow and trained personnel, we will be able to continue to provide services in a professional and efficient manner.
We are preparing for the time should we become self governing. A lot of the work is completed such as our own Election Code and Membership Code, Financial Policy, Residency Law and Animal Control Law. We have also just completed a Communication Strategy and a Comprehensive Community Plan which have recently been approved by Council.
We had asked community members to complete a survey so that we have direction on what is more important to you at this time. These results will allow us to develop a Strategic Plan on Governance.
